For case:

One third of 24 = 1/3 of 24 = 24/iii = 8.

One 3rd of 33 = ane/3 of 33 = 33/iii = 11.

Five thirds of 15 =  5/ 3  of fifteen = five x xv / iii = v 10 5 = 25.

Fourths

One fourth is equivalent to the fraction: 1/four. T herefore, it is a quarter of an amount. Fourths are calculated by dividing by 4.

For example:

One fourth of 20 =  ¼ of twenty = 20/4 = 5.

One 4th of 28 = ¼ of 28 = 28 / four = vii.

Seven fourths of 8 = vii / 4  of viii = 7 x 8 / 4 = 7 x 2 = xiv.
